The SVP can be contacted by letter or by telephone through the Head Office at SVP House, 91-92 Sean McDermott Street, Dublin 1, telephone (01) 855 00 22 from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Contact can be made locally by letter through the Parish Office or the collection boxes.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) was founded in Paris in 1833, and has spread throughout the world, dedicated to the relief of poverty. There has been a Conference of the Society in Dalkey for over 100 years. All the members are unpaid volunteers, who do the work of the SVP in their own time. When requested, they will call to people in their own homes.
The greater part of the SVP funding comes from the annual church collection, which takes place in early December. Donations can also be made through the collection boxes in the church porches every week-end.
The Conference in Dalkey meets in the church every Tuesday evening from 7 – 8pm.
